Education

The analysis of the urban context is an integral and essential component of the education of architects in Karlsruhe. It is the main activity of the chair as part of the Institute for Urban and Landscape Design.
In our bachelor-program we focus on urban design. We teach basic knowledge and design tools on various scales – the scale of the region, the scale of the city as well as the scale of the urban quarter or village.

In the master-program we offer design studios addressing issues on the rural area.
Furthermore we offer in-depth seminars on these topics.  
Apart from the daily work in the studios and the seminars, we organise presentations, excursions together with lectures and conferences.
We are supervising master theses, which allow you to receive double qualification as architect and as urban planner likewise.
