A Heart for Horb

In his design “A heart for the city of Horb”, Andreas Konrad has dealt with many aspects of the core city, in particular the market and the transport reports. He evaluates the report critically and develops his own position based on a comprehensive urbanistic analysis. His design vividly shows that a large retail space can be integrated into a city center with con- toured landscape and that the center, in which the inter-linked walkways and the important sightlines are established, the central functions are completed and the high quality public spaces are created, can become stronger. The central idea of his design is rst to reactivate a parking garage through a second entrance, by differently using the surfaces of the dwellings or businesses, and second to form the lift in the upper town as panorama lift. He penetrates the complex spatial structure of the city center, proposing actual precise solutions for urban repair.
